CSI@K12

A K-12 communication and collaboration platform in partnership with Microsoft.

In the current wave of internet connectivity, a new generation of tools have become integral participants in our day to day dialogues.  Email, instant messaging, news groups, RSS, Twitter, Facebook, telephony, and SMS are all common components in the average person's communication toolbox - including kids!  While these can certainly be disruptive technologies, many institutions are leveraging these as the social tools to engage their learning communities.

Instructional communications management (ICM) is a complementary technology for describing and integrating all the different modes of communication that participate in educational dialogues.  Not just email from the teacher, "ICM" involves all facets of communication between educators, learners and other supporting players (parents, tutors, community, etc.).  Of course communication is a pivotal function of learning, so "ICM" also acts as a lens for focusing pertinent internet resources.  ICM allows the appropriate communication vehicle as the nexus for interpersonal communication; not just email but a contextually aware communication system that understands the nature of K-12 education and imposes appropriate policies while providing enlightened functionality.

CSI@K12 is the enterprise class ICM solution that embeds award-winning Microsoft Live@EDU, satisfies K-12 compliance and security requirements, and is eRate fundable.  It integrates with internal and external controls within each school or school district, tuned to each school unique needs and infrastructure.
