4-Day Workshop Program
This program accelerates customers transitioning to Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server Version 2 (SPS) technology and Windows Sharepoint Services (WSS). The program offers an architectural overview of each of the major functions provided by SPS and WSS. The program provides significant instruction on programmatically extending WSS and SPS. The program is targeted at information technology (IT) professionals who are evaluating the technology and who need to understand both the benefits and impact on their network infrastructure. The program is geared to provide two days of onsite training and two days of consultation for setup and deployment with in the next preceding six months. Upon completion of the first two days The program individuals will be able to:

• Install and configure WSS and SPS.
• Configure SPS components for both single and shared services operating modes.
• Configure SPS personalization settings and connect the community to Active Directory.
• Configure SPS search by adding categories, keywords, alternate sites and other appropriate information.
• Configure portal audiences and target content to portal audiences.
• Build integrated and independent WSS sites and link them to SPS.
• Customize the layout of the dashboard sites.
• Understand and configure WSS site hierarchies including security, application management, and cross site connectivity.
• Add content to sites and manipulate content using Office 2003.
• Find documents that are stored on multiple servers and data stores.
• Manage available applications in a site and connect to data sources outside the Sharepoint hierarchy.
• Use Visual studio .NET to create and publish a custom web part.
