Need to take the struggle out of network management?

Whether yours is a small organization or a Fortune 500 company, today's computing environment requires your company to be agile and responsive to existing network problems, while being proactive in developing new network management procedures. This agility requires an infrastructure that can adapt to rapidly changing needs by continuously managing network device configurations.

Effective network management applications can help businesses improve their bottom line by aligning IT infrastructure to business priorities and goals, thereby reducing costs, increasing efficiency and productivity and improving customer satisfaction. To help your network evolve within this dynamic environment, you need robust network management tools that help you manage and deploy new services reliably with a minimum of manual input. This is why Version3 has developed Simple Sign-On Access Control, designed specifically for the busy network administrator.

Version3 Simple Sign-On Access Control Application is comprised of five (5) administrative components, and is a totally integrated Active Directory security tool that allows administrators the ability to mix and match key features for a completely secure solution based on their specific network needs.

Connection Management
The Connection Management component of Simple Sign-On Access Control allows the administrator the ability to control and manage connections to server file and printer shares from within the Active Directory Users and Computers Console. Connections can be managed from multiple objects within Active Directory. These include Active Directory groups (called Connection Groups by Simple Sign-On), standard user objects, standard workstation objects, as well as on a per Simple Sign-On managed application. Just imagine the ability to setup your organizations connections to file and printer shares without writing a single line of a script or batch file!

Application Publishing
Application Publishing gives the administrator of an Active Directory network the ability to place custom icons anywhere on the computer. Once the icons are created, they can be shared with anyone on the network by making them a member of the Active Directory group that houses the icons. Simple Sign-On does not just place icons arbitrarily on the computer, it actually checks for the application before creating the icon. Any application can be published, including standard Windows applications, web sites, as well as terminal server based applications. You can even associate an icon with a Simple Sign-On macro to allow for scripted event when the user clicks their application. Just image being able to control pre and post application launch processes and the user is totally unaware.

Macro and Scripting Tools
Simple Sign-On Access Control provides a robust macro and scripting environment. All macros and scripts are stored within Active Directory. Text files are no longer needed! All information is stored within an Active Directory group property. Access Control also supports multiple scripting languages with no proprietary languages to learn. Administrators can use standard scripting technologies or have others added. You choose! Currently supported scripting technologies include VBScript, JScript, HTML, XLM and Auto-It 2.x. The upcoming release of version 2.5 of Simple Sign-On will include VB.Net, JScript.Net, C#, J#, and Auto-It 3.x support.

Shared and Common Credentials
Access Control has the ability to dynamically switch credentials using Simple Sign-On Common and Shared credentials provided by Simple Sign-On when performing tasks on the workstations. This could be as basic as providing an administrative account to install a print driver for printers managed by Simple Sign-On or as elaborate as task switch within a macro or script to allow for administrative functions during script processing.
